Republicans being all law and order, and such. But in TX, they're letting them off. The article didn''t mention the connection between Paxton and Hoffman. I'm not sure why Paxton let him off.
(I'm opposed to the death penalty, FWIW.)
This should make good campaign material for Talarico.
