I get what you are saying and agree that people need to differentiate between 'low IQ' and just plain ignorant, willfully or due to lack of learning opportunity. Then, throw in levels of sociopathy or worse, and it has NOTHING to do with 'low IQ'

The children's non-amb unit I worked in had residents with serious physical problems, thus non-amb, along with profound mental disabilities. For some, it was a daily life and death fight to keep them going because their bodies didn't learn how to swallow, or even breathe reliably, some had sever cerebral palsy which is horrible to watch. And yes, there were some with behavior problems, but those ALL stemmed from the very real structural pain, an frustration of the inability to function at a 'normal' level or even speak. Some of the 'kids' were trying for all the caring staffers, for sure. But also, some of those youngsters (infants to early 20s) were also the sweetest people I ever met.

Mean and nasty is not the same as 'low IQ'.

Trump is mean and nasty. It is willful and he is responsible for his behavior. He IS willfully ignorant despite having opportunities for learning that most of us could only dream of. He chose to be ignorant of things not directly related to him self. That is NOT low IQ, it is a personal failing.

While it is true that he obviously is suffering age related mental deficiencies, he was not born with them. Again, that is not low IQ.

Csusan, I am in agreement with you. There are a few here, in this stronghold of online liberal thinking, who could do with some introspection regarding terms used. I am guilty of sometimes using terms that are not really fair, but I do know what 'low IQ' really means.

Trump is not low IQ. He's a self made asshole who has always refused to take responsibility for anything he has done wrong while trying to steal credit for what others have done. Kids in my old ward were most definitely low IQ, but they were not assholes.
