probably fighting an uphill battle against perhaps the oldest prejudice known to man. Mockery and disdain - both serious and humorous, good natured and down right vicious - are completely ingrained in our (and virtually every other) culture - and is inculcated from the time we are in diapers.

The basis of about 97% of our comedy ... (and again, universal) (blonde jokes, cousin Jimmy, hapless spouse, rural rubes, Polish yoink .. ) And on a more serious level, the basis for an almost instinctual and rudimentary categorization and evaluation of our fellow ... Ground level stuff ...

You'd probably be hard put to find anything more universal - or more jointly shared.
So ... You are of course right - but .....
