"He tells it like it is" is a commonly used statement referring to a person's "authenticity." We all know Trump to be one of the most prodigious liars and bullshitters but somehow he is "authentic" because he speaks his mind. So does the drunk at the end of the bar speak his mind- he just doesn't make any sense.
