I'm so sorry. Skin cancer is very dangerous because of reactions to treatment many times. My mom had a melanoma died from a massive infection from the removal. Her brother also died of skin cancer. You'll be ok learning to live life without him. It's not easy, but the love stays in our hearts and help us go on.
