I did that, too, when I lived on the East Side of St. Paul. Precinct chair and all that. I even built a website for our precinct, and it got a lot of traffic. When I retired from work, though I had moved to Maple Grove. I no longer have the energy to participate at the same level. I handed over the reins to someone else, I'm afraid.

The very best thing about actual participation in local party organizations is that you get to be a delegate to conventions. You meet candidates. You're part of the plan. I can't recommend doing that enough.
