1. The erosion of the public commons has created widespread problems

It's a concept that was central to Colonial American life, symbolized by the traditional New England public park but not limited to it. It has been gradually demonized by the moneyed interests as being akin to "socialism." It is far more economical than privatization, encouraging wealth creation rather than suppressing it, and, most importantly, raising the value of the individual citizen so that every person can live like the aristocrats of old. I look forward to Murphy's book. It should be the national conversation.
