(115,645 posts)I just recently lost an old friend that came to depend on me. He was a feral cat and no one could pet him. He was attacked by some raccoons recently and I tried to nurse him back to health. He let me get close enough to put some hydrogen peroxide on his wounds, which indeed did help them to heal. In his last days, he would rub against my legs and want to be petted. He was trying to tell me something, I am sure. I found him by my trash can, out by the alley, about two weeks ago. He was stretched out as if he was running. I told my neighbor about it, since he was familiar with him. I was going to call the Humane Society and have him cremated but my neighbor said that he would bury him in his pet graveyard in his backyard. If he does return, he will know there are some kind humans in the world.
