'I didn't say that': GOP senator contradicts Trump after president posts false quote [View all]

Sen. John Kennedy (R-LA) said that President Donald Trump had used a false quote to push a baseless claim about former President Barack Obama making money off of his signature health care legislation.

In a Truth Social post on Monday night, Trump shared the claim that Kennedy was "now publicly demanding that Barack Hussein Obama return $120 million that he allegedly earned through ownership related to 'Obamacare.'"

"He allocated money under his own laws using taxpayer-generated prestige," the fake quote said. "There's nothing ethical or legal about this."
