1. My great(3) grandfather

was a Confederate soldier. He served in the 9th Florida Regiment. Fought at the Battle of Olustee and Cold Harbor. After the war he walked from Virginia back to Polk County Florida. This was back before I-95 was built. It took him six months to get home. He never took the amnesty oath.

He wrote almost 200 letters while serving. We donated the letters to the Library at the University of Florida.

I have always been fascinated with Civil War history.
