I can relate. My Mom wasn't like the tsf, but she she was a very unhappy person, and took it out on Dad, my sister, and I. Her father was a very cruel man, and physically beat and verbally abused all eight of his children. Mom never beat me but a lot of what she said to me, cut deep. My therapists and Doctors all wanted to speak with her in person, but she refused. One of my therapists did call her to give recommendations about me, like letting me get another dog, when our previous one had passed, and my mother was reluctant to do so. My Mom relented. She refused family counseling, however, because she didn't want to be told, my issues were all her fault.
