So apparently overwhelmingly black areas in the South can just be deprived of representation and that's totally fine under the Constitution. Not sure what you'd call America at this point, but it's certainly not a representative democracy.

Senator Marsha Blackburn, Republican of Tennessee, just called on Tennessee’s General Assembly to reconvene and pass a new map that eliminates a majority-Black district in Memphis, in light of the ruling. Blackburn, who is running for governor, said, “I’ve vowed to keep Tennessee a red state” and pledged to “do everything I can to make this map a reality.”
