I'll admit I didn't fully understand the rest of your post, except I got the gist of "stepping back" from the steady stream of bullshit/crazy/intentional fear-induction that is what passes for "news" and "media" today. You might be on to something there. Wishing you and the rest of us the best of luck navigating this shit-stream.
