9. I'm torn, because I think journalism should also hold journalism to account.

There feel there needs to be eyes on this event that are critical of Trump’s relationship with the press. If enough of the media boycotted it, perhaps Trump wouldn’t be invited, but I’m guessing it would just narrow the range of political bias of those attending. I’m not sure journalism is being protected by not attending an event that might lay bare how far the media has bent to Trump’s charms. The less independent critical media attending, the more one-sided the coverage and edited snippets will probably be. The President’s relationship with the media is as newsworthy as any time in my life. This might be the event that makes it easy to encapsulate.
