Why is Vance also trashing the Pope? [View all]

I can see why Trump is, it is what he does. But why Vance? I don’t see the upside and there are lots of downsides, particularly for any presidential ambitions. Note that fellow Catholic Marco Rubio seems to be keeping his mouth shut.
