14. Iraq and Iran were at war...

and we armed both sides.

War was our goal, it almost didn't matter who was involved. But Iraq was sort of our friend up until they invaded Kuwait, and Iran was our enemy until Reagan sold them weapons in exchange for keeping Americans hostage so that Reagan could win the election in 1980.
