Paxton is corrupt so naturally he's MAGA favorite. The primary runoff is end of May so probably not enough time to appoint but they really don't want Cornyn and Paxton fight. I can see MAGA R's getting upset that choice taken from them but they would probably love him as Trump's AG anyway.
