that's the long and short of it.

Some of them may be "smart", but they are hobbled by their inability to see beyond the end of their own wants. Most of them are not so much intelligent but they have a kind of opportunistic cunning that allows them to see where they can screw others over for their own benefit.

This goes along with not having a general sense of morality. Every right winger I know has the same attitude: if it benefits me personally, it's what "god" wants!

They are intimidated by women (and men, to a lesser extent) who are truly smart. They also don't like listening to people who have actual answers, because they labor under the delusion that they alone have all the answers to everything.
