Justice Roberts is only asserting the barest presentiments of resistance to executive and political overreach into his domain. It is only recognizable because the other coequal branch leadership (i.e. Speaker Johnson and Leader Thune) have thoroughly abandoned their own authority.

Roberts isn't really doing anything, he's just vaguely inertial and grave and deeply concerned about his own legacy.
