(1,900 posts)I gathered everything together (certified birth certificate, marriage license, etc) and the pandemic hit and courthouses were closed for a long time. I was a lot less mobile after the pandemic and put it off. My birth state had changed things to get a amended birth certificate and didn't answer the phone much or respond to messages. I kind of gave up and then Trump was elected. I made it priority to get this figured out fast and remembered the license bureau saying a passport was an option because they use different sources of identification. I applied and it took about six weeks. It's not cheap, but it worked. I am also in Washington but my birth state is Montana. I also had present myself to a clerk in the courthouse, but it was nothing.
I had a passport card in my hot little hands before the asshole was inaugurated.
