but U.S. currency is based on nothing too. I'm not sticking up for Bitcoin. Far from it. Bitcoin was designed for criminals' use.
We used to have gold and silver backing-up our currency. Nixon took care of that so foreign countries couldn't run at our gold supply. Funding the Vietnam "conflict" was costlier than the hawks figured.
And the rest is history, as they say. 😉
