(7,010 posts)They did NOTHING! Schumer, Durbin, even Biden, went right back to the old school way of doing things, as if January 6th and the Trump administration had never happened.
So as a result, a six-MAGA member Supreme Court continued in its gross negligence and incompetence, and immorality, unchecked when we had the power to pack it with judges who would have not only neutralized the incompetence, but who would have undone everything they did.
Seemss to me the Republicans were able, during that time, to block just about everything that would have made real structural changes, and other than the infrastructure bill, and a couple of other left side economic policies, we still have no campaign finance reform, we didn't put anything in place to make Obamacare permanent and untouchable, and somehow our justice department frittered away four years with indictments on the table because of gross incompetence of an attorney general who never sshould have been hired. If we'd have packed the court, Eileen Cannon and the others who delayed for Trump would have been made irrelevant. Trump would have been tried and imprisoned and made ineligible to run again and we would not be here now.
It makes marches and protests look like lemurs falling off a cliff.
