if DUers care at all about the real artists whose work was stolen to train those AI tools so AI users can pretend to be artists.

I do care, and I want to make sure those artists realize some DUers care, which is why I'm posting this.

The only platform where I see more AI slop than DU has sometimes is X. I've heard that Facebook is really enshittified by AI slop, too, but I don't use Facebook. Bluesky tends to have less AI slop because it tilts liberal and has a lot of real artists who very correctly hate AI slop. As the head of the AFT found out when she foolishly posted AI slop and angered her followers, some of whom felt she'd disqualified herself from leading the union:
