For over three years now, they have been funneling the bulk of the "Green Project" grant money from the Biden Administration to wealthy land owners in the form of "fake" conservation easements. I know many here will hear "conservation" and think that's great, but that's not what is really happening. In Florida, a conservation easement simply means "paying a rich land owner to not develop land he wasn't going to develop in the first place". Its called "the rich man's boondoggle". We are talking literally hundreds of millions of dollars given to already rich and wealthy individuals. Some people have even bought land for the sole purpose of re-selling it to the State or getting one of these fake conservation easements and getting back 40%-50% of their purchase price.

These are the same people who frequently wine "we can't spend anymore....wahhhhhh...." when it comes to assistance for school lunches, child care, education and health care. But this is their new grift - Take as much tax-payer money as possible and funnel it to already rich and wealthy individuals and companies as "payback" for Covid payments to the poor and decades of public assistance.
