The real danger here is not the odious thoughts and words of a premiere internet troll whose very livelihood depends on attention and eyeballs. The little boil on the ass of humanity can be lanced and forgotten without too much outrage, but the fact that there is a subset of the population - apparently a very LARGE subset - that WANTS to support this and abide by it that allows this to fester.

Its whack-a-mole if people spend all their energy on Fuentes or the next Fuentes and their hateful words. The real issue is determining why its public existence and acknowledgement has allowed it to be stated so baldly and so consequence-free.

The little boy posing as a tough guy is a symptom, not the disease... the disease is overly permissive attitudes and acceptance of what is and is not within the limits of staying in the social contract. I have been banned from social media outlets like Twitter and Reddit because I refused to stop wishing in public postings that Trump would die in agony. They said it was "promotin' violence" . Once account was banned for telling DJTJr. that I am glad he suffers from the knowledge that his daddy does not love him. Yet, as over-the-top and probably unnecessary as those words were - my bad behavior is met with clutched pearls and fainting couches and internet bans while a douchey, hateful pus-bag like Fuentes is making MILLIONS of dollars for objectively worse sentiments.

At least my hateful screeds were / are targeted at one obnoxious family...
