Having faith in the US media may be our primary error.

I don't call it a "sin" because we were raised to believe the media (e.g. Walter Cronkite et al.) The Billionaire Cabal (owners of the GOP) has understood this for many years, and they have usurped ownership of the media for this very reason.

Where did it all go wrong? I'd take a hard look at Ronald Reagan's very first act as President in 1981 when he struck down the Fairness Doctrine. That ushered in the "hate radio" programs a la Rush Limbaugh, and eventually by 1990, Faux Noise and all of its copiers/ competitors. Now it's 2026 and we're dealing with 30 years of lies and "fake news" on the internet, and I don't have to go into that. It's something we all see on a daily basis.

If the Fairness Doctrine hadn't been removed, none of the other shit would have been possible.
