53. One thing my wife reported to me from New York today

She was blown away by the price of food there. Food is very expensive here in Euro-land, but it seems that Manhattan has left most of the EU in the dust with respect to advances in food prices. Of course, if the farms can't find any labor, that should come as no surprise.

This weekend, I have to run down briefly to Switzerland, which does not use the Euro, and has food (and everything else!) prices that can compete with Manhattan.
