Especially after reading Strange Justice: The Selling of Clarence Thomas, and finding out he was an even bigger sleaze bag that I could have ever imagined.

His nomination to SCOTUS was a travesty that happened for all the wrong reasons: George H. W. Bush wanted to replace Thurgood Marshall with another African American, but he wanted a conservative one, and conservative African American candidates were all but nonexistent. Thomas was the ultimate DEI hire, barely qualified and completely unsuited for the job. He should never, ever have been confirmed.
