8. I have a family member that has barely paid taxes over the decades.

He worked construction. When he was paid by check he would take it to that bank to cash it for a fee. He retired this year and his SSA is only $890, but his wife passed away a few years ago and she worked as a w-2 employee so he receives an additional $1,500. He has never been investigated or audited by the IRS.
