Got into it a little bit with some Trump humpers... [View all]

...in the doctor's waiting room. Just three of us in the room and an elderly woman got off her phone and commented that she was being urged to vote by family members in today's special election. This waiting room is just outside of the 7th district in Tennessee. She lamented to the other man that she couldn't vote for Van Epps and he agreed with her saying he wished he could vote for him, too. I told them it was unreal that they felt they could laud Trump in public and not expect to be called on it. I told them they were cheering for a pedophile. The man told me I should move to California then to New York if I felt that way. I told him he's free to live where he wants but wants to deny me that same freedom. He then asked for proof Trump was a pedophile, using colorful language. I told him Trump could f*** an 8-year-old in front of him and he would cheer him on then deny it happened afterward. He called me old-timer which surprised me since I had already judged him to be older than I but I have misjudged that in others I have met, often. The woman announced she was dying of cancer and would be gone in four months so she didn't care. I told her I was very sorry for that news. She then went on to praise Trump and asked if I voted for Harris. I told her her vote for Trump was a big middle finger to the rest of us who had to endure his presidency. The two left, not together, shortly after. I know some of you will criticize my behavior and I knew as I was living it that it was worthy of both praise and criticism but if we had called out these people for airing their fascists beliefs earlier perhaps we would not have this presidency.
