He's been vetted for years. That's why he was brought over. He was just given asylum but would get a hearing a year later for permanent residence. It doesn't make sense for him to take this risk. He's skilled and trained, an emotional or random shooting like this doesn't make sense.

My guess: he's still working for the CIA and was ordered to do this. No, i don't have evidence, just my own conspiracy theory. But let's see if he lives long enough to tell his story. We need to get his story. We need to make sure he is protected, in case someone doesn't want us to get his story. Journalists need to be tracing his whereabouts.
