I don't know how many Afghans were allowed into the US. Tens of thousands? Hundreds of thousands? [View all]

Every time I see the number, especially in Facebook memes, it gets bigger. The right has vilified every Afghan brought in under that program and they've vilified President Biden for letting them all in.

And somehow, the more they say he let in, the more they vilify. The worse they make it seem.

But here's the thing. Out of that huge number, whatever it is, how many Afghan immigrants have committed an act of terror or violence that made headlines in the last five years?

I don't remember any.

That fact that no one has mentioned this program or the Afghans invited here, or have been in the news since they arrived speaks to me of its success. I haven't seen many talking heads pointing this out.
