(11,634 posts)32. Juries render verdicts. After they have done so, they are discharged.
Judges then enter judgment usually on the verdict rendered by the jury but sometimes a judgment of acquittal if the judge doesnt feel there was sufficient evidence to support a guilty verdict.
Juries do not dismiss verdicts. I cant conceive of why they would do so having just rendered the verdict, even if they had the power, and were still around to do it.

The $5 million judgment has been appealed to SCOTUS, but Carroll's opposition isn't due until January

Absolutely not. A jury wouldn't dismiss a verdict anyhow; that's not their job.
