The CDC said this time of year is when flu numbers start to creep up nationally, and right now, they are, as the start of the holiday season means more time indoors around people, a lot of travel and more.
"The fact that we're seeing more H3N2 overall means we're probably in for a rougher season," Infectious Disease Epidemiologist Catherine Troisi said.
H2ND is the strain showing up in the most recent CDC numbers nationally. The CDC reports that last week, a nearly 3% increase in people testing positive for the flu and over 2,300 hospitalizations.
In Michigan, the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services reports a small increase in ER visits and 55 flu hospitalizations. The new strain is also genetically different than the strain in the vaccine, so those with the shot can still spread it.

Make sure you check in with your state departments of health. Remember nothing the CDC says anymore can simply be taken at face value because it is all filtered through RFK's pro-death agenda.
One of my coworkers pissed me off a few days ago...........
I asked him if he wanted to go out for lunch. He said sure, he planned to go out hunting that day but his cold had other plans so he came to work. I said "I'm sorry, your what?" because I was sure I had misheard him. He said he was planning to go hunting but didn't want to spend the day in a tree stand because he was fighting a cold so he came to work instead. I said oh, okay.... and a short time later made up and excuse that I had to go run an errand for my wife so I couldn't do lunch today.
I kind of thought we had all learned something after Covid, and I was mad because... FOR FUCKS SAKE, if you are sick, DON'T go out to lunch with other people!!!!!!!!!! We don't want your fucking cold!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! or flu, or covid, or anything else. I really don't want to spend a week coughing, blowing my nose, and fleeing like shit because I spent 30 minutes eating fucking tacos with someone. Nor do i then want to make my wife suffer as well because I pass it on to her. I understand there are people that have to go to work sometimes, and have to go out to the store to get food and such, but going out to lunch is very much a VOLUNTARY public action.
And it never even occurs to sick people to put on a mask! Did we not all learn that it can help slow the spread of viruses? So fucking frustrating. We're right back to the same bad habits from before the pandemic.
