the media has a great deal of power. sadly, they refuse to use it against republicans. donnie especially. [View all]

a quick look at any democratic "scandal" reveals that the media can, for the most part, destroy any democrat's career if they want to, over just about any matter, no matter how trivial.

sometimes political kills take longer than others. they went after hillary for ages before the dubious and distant link from setting up a private email server intended for non-classified information was vaguely linked to a few retroactively deemed classified emails that passed through that server without any indication of any harm done. long before that, they blasted carter over the 444 day hostage matter, largely ignoring the sabotage by the reagan/bush team. an entire program dedicated to that single issue had never been done before and it did massive damage to carter's standing.

others are ridiculously quick, such as the dean scream or hart's supposed affair. the media is unfazed about donnie sounding ridiculous or overtly cheating on all of his wives, never mind being a certified sexual assaulter.

biden was slammed for being "too old", but the media is very gun shy about donnie, whose mental decline is ridiculously obvious, not to mention that he has always had severe mental and psychological issues to begin with.

but the latest episodes with the media, notably women reporters, is galling. i can't for the life of me imagine helen thomas, the famous dean of the white house press corps, ever being treated like that. she admitted asking some really mean questions, she didn't hold back at all. yet all presidents sat her in the front row and gave her the honor of the first question, and no one ever called her stupid or ugly or piggy or told her to shut up.

i knew we were doomed the moment donnie first rolled out the term "fake news" and the media responded like oh well, this is just another presidential quote for us to report, and the disappointment in the media continues to this day.

if they had any backbone, any integrity, any self-respect, they would have crucified donnie the first time he disrespected the media.

again, this is not hard for them to do, especially with scandal-plagued donnie. they could bring him down in a week if they wanted to.

but instead, they say, "thank you, sir, may i have another" and continue to let this lunatic get away with literally anything.
