Re- Seymour Hersh, Who Broke the My Lai Massacre, Abu Ghraib, & Other Stories Initially Denied but Later Corroborated [View all]

Hersh is legendary for the quality and reliability of his high-level sources. He first achieved prominence in 1969 by breaking the story of the My Lai massacre, in which U.S. soldiers killed hundreds of Vietnamese civilians, an exposé that prompted a court-martial and earned him the 1970 Pulitzer Prize for International Reporting.

His subsequent work uncovered CIA domestic spying abuses in the 1970s, Kissinger's secret diplomacy, and the systematic torture and abuse of detainees at Abu Ghraib, which ignited global outrage and investigations into U.S. military practices. He has received many prizes for his persistent pursuit of hidden truths despite institutional resistance, including five George Polk Awards, the most for any recipient.
