you're not recording them.
I have a dash cam in my trucks and my POV's, that way everything is documented if I get pulled over.
I had a TN. Highway Patrol officer actually tell me that it's illegal to film him without his written consent, which, of course, is a blatant lie, his supervisor arrived and set him straight, I also filed a complaint against this trooper and received a letter from the head of their internal affairs stating that my complaint was validated and the trooper received a letter of reprimand and had to take a class on Constitutional rights.

Like I said, always film the cops, they may tell you that they're recording too, but their recordings tend to get "lost".
