now, he seems to be afraid of his shadow, like Schumer.
So, ineffective, but he could choose to be more effective.
I think the biggest problem is that a lot of elected Democrats spend too much time trying to be polite and "nice". They are stuck in an older social contract, where both sides would work together to get things done. It is not that way anymore, Republicans do not compromise nor do they cooperate.

Democrat as in have Jeffries primaried by another DEMOCRAT rather than a DEMOCRATIC candidate

The dictionary says democrat is a noun not an adjective, so democrat primary would be incorrect.

My thoughts are that Rep. Jeffries was unanimously reelected House Minority Leader in November, 2024 by his peers.
