the coverage is also largely in their (Republicans') hands.

If you're in control of all three branches of government and all of its agencies, then when shit happens, it's on you.

I understand that the anti-vaxxer movement predates MAGA and has historical, cultural, and international roots.

But I think for purposes of the article, specifically the cited rise in deaths and corresponding decrease in immunizations,

one cannot (correction, should not, I think) minimize the degree to which the right, in making public health yet another frkn 'culture war,'

has influenced vaccine decision making, and apparently for the WORSE.
