Yes, there are currently detainees at the U.S. military facility in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, though the number has decreased significantly since the facility opened in 2002. As of August 2025, fifteen individuals remained detained, with their status varying, including those facing military commission charges and others recommended for transfer to other countries.
