I had a severely autistic younger brother (he passed in 2020). While he could be left on his own for short periods of time, he was in no way capable of taking care of himself. But I have worked with some very gifted autistic / aspergers folk in the IT field. I don't know what the obsession with autism is right now in Trump.2 but the way they talk about it shows they are very ignorant indeed. Honestly it feels like they are dehumanizing autistic people, along with their other targets (immigrants, trans folk, etc.).
