asked our class on the first day of the semester, "What holds our country together?" Of course, there were several ideas like "our laws, police, army, the courts," etc. He just smiled and said "it's our mutual agreement to support its Constitution and other laws, but if that ever fails, we're toast." It certainly seems that we're very close to the point that the agreement is failing, especially with a Supreme Court majority, one party of the Legislature, and the President all disregarding our system of laws. We have too many people serving a person, and not the Constitution.
