A word about Bone Spurs [View all]

Our history in a paragraph or two. My father worked in a machine shop, I would say, starting at age 14 in a family business. He worked in the skilled trades for around 45 years. In his mid-50s he developed bone spurs on the heals of his feet and it was not hard to see that it was painful as he walked. There was not ergonomic neoprene mats placed his work area because they may not have even been invented yet.

The cure, in his case, was surgery. I am sure 45-50 years ago the surgery was more invasive than now and if the operation was not a complete success he risked not being able to go back to his livelihood to complete his career. So he spent, I would say, the last 6 - 8 years of his work life in constant pain while walking, which lasted until his death because he never had those bone spurs worked on. This is most of what I know about my dad's bone spurs. Today, with better footwear and the ergonomic mats, I hope bone spurs is now less common.

It hasn't been spelled out what exactly trump's case of bone spurs or if it even is in the area of the heals of the feet. I would assume that it is. It seems that bone spurs happen mostly for middle aged people on up. This is part of what infuriates me with trump. He has never worked in a manufacturing setting nor to I see him as an avid runner. So how did he get them? And it also pisses me off that he was able to use this as a way to get out of serving, while my brother, who is close to his age, served and spent almost a year in 'nam.
