Republicans receive far more money from movement conservatives, industrialists, billionaires because they like Republican policy. Wealthy liberals give to Democrats because they like their policies. This is twisted into oligarchs controlling and corrupting both parties, that the Democratic Party has moved to the Right with same economic policies as Republicans (trick people into voting for them with identity politics), Democrats ignore working/middle class and don't have the foggiest idea what inequality is because all they care about is money, dysfunction in politics is caused by money and all that needs to be done is get money out of politics but Democrats won't do it, etc. The whole ideology is wrong.
"The very rich invest most heavily in the Republican Party: its politicians, its party organizations, its allied groups, and its causes. Of the richest Americans on Forbes's famous wealth list, according to a recent study, roughly two-thirds contributed mainly or exclusively to Republican or conservative causes, and their spending outweighed the spending of those in the top 100 who gave to Democrats or liberal causes by a ratio of three to one.
"The conservative tilt is even more pronounced when one considers the more organized segments of the plutocracy, including influential networks of donors and powerful business groups. And it's even more pronounced when one considers the many nonpublic ways the superrich and corporations can support politicians and lobby for their causes -- not just so called dark money ... but also hidden flows to interest groups and advocacy spending laundered through nonprofits."
