Trump Administration 10% Stake in Intel - Talk me through this [View all]

Apparently the United States Government, or if you prefer, the Trump Administration is taking a 10% stake in chip maker Intel. That’s about $11 billion in stock. I’m not even clear on if we are buying it or what. What are the pluses and minuses of this? Trying to have a serious discussion.
