Speaker Mike Johnson’s hometown has a higher crime rate per capita than Washington, D.C. or San Francisco. And here’s the kicker—majority of the top 10 crime-ridden cities are in red and purple states.
As John Heilemann said this morning, Johnson’s push to federalize the National Guard in D.C. isn’t about public safety—it’s about symbolism and politics.
