In reply to the discussion: How many hours a day, on average, do you watch Cable News? [View all]mnhtnbb
(32,867 posts)I read the print copies of NY Times, a local paper, and the Wall Street Journal regularly. I watched CNN, CNBC, PBS and MSNBC.
Now I no longer get print copies of any newspapers. I don't watch any cable news channels. I still have an online subscription to the NY Times, mostly for word games, recipes, book and theatre reviews. If I want hard news, I'll look at The Guardian online.
I cannot stomach the sight or sound of the orange a$$hole. Republicans enrage me at their cowardly, traitorous, and self serving behavior. The misogyny, racism, bigotry, hypocrisy ,and complete lack of compassion for others in this country make me sick. I do not need a daily reminder of it from any source.
If I see a news story on DU that I want to follow up, I will click links or do a search for more information. But by and large, I avoid the news now.
