They then searched the employees for IDs and ended up taking 3 employees away in handcuffs and leg chains. Just barbaric. San Diego PD was not involved.
CBS 8 spoke with Claire Cody, an employee of Buona Forchetta, who said federal agents swarmed in, said they had a warrant and immediately handcuffed each employee in the room. Agents then took the cuffed employees to the main faction of the restaurant with the entire restaurant staff handcuffed. Agents then checked each employee's IDs.
Cody tearfully told CBS 8 that she watched multiple coworkers be taken away by HSI agents.

"When I arrived, I saw that the workers were all sitting in chairs. They had plastic handcuffs around them," activist Pedro Rios with the American Friends Service Committee said. "The ones that they took out, they not only placed handcuffs on them, but they also put chains on their legs as they were boarded onto the vehicles that transported them out of the area."
The restaurant manager told NBC 7 at least two workers were detained and that both businesses were closed when the operation happened.
The San Diego Police Department told NBC 7 that ICE and Homeland Security Investigations requested the department's assistance for "urgent cover."
"They left before our arrival," SDPD Lt. Daniel Meyer said. "We were not involved in the incident."

I bet they only had a worthless administrative warrant, not an actual judicial warrant.
The people in the street were not an organized protest. They were just passersby who saw what was unfolding and were disgusted, started chanting, "Shame! Shame! Shame!"
Who knows where ICE took the 3 they kidnapped.
