and then 2 days before the debate he woke up with a severe cold where he was losing his voice but still trying to prepare for the debate. Yes, hindsight is 20/20 and perhaps a man his age would have been better served in resting up for the debate, but that didn't happen and in the end the history of the world was changed by small things that would never have been looked at as so consequential otherwise.
