“Being Irish, he had an abiding sense of tragedy, which sustained him through temporary periods of joy.” ― W.B. Yeats

When Oliver Stone was making the film "The Doors," he noted that Yeats' quote defined Jim's life. Perhaps if Morrison had beat the Irish Flu, he would have changed as he aged. I did not have so positive an outlook on life when I was young and drank to excess.

I know that the majority of my family & friends -- all sober people, blessed with the ability to enjoy a drink or two without visiting the regions that Jim & I explored! -- are frequently feeling discouraged by the political reality we are confronted with. That is normal. But I don't think the quite fit the definition of "normal," by any standards but my own! (grin)

I know that we are going to crush the maga republicans in 2026. Yet I know that there will be great suffering until then. We are in a heck of a fight.
